Legal Geek 2026 Returns to London With 5,000 Legal Professionals and a Heavy Focus on AI
October 1, 20263 min read

Legal Geek Conference 2026 takes place on 14 and 15 October at The Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, London. The organizers describe it as Europe's largest legal technology conference, and this year the agenda leans heavily on AI adoption and AI governance.
Legal Geek expects about 5,000 legal professionals from more than 65 countries. According to the organizers' breakdown, 39% work in in-house teams, 33% at law firms, 21% at legal tech providers, and 7% are investors, regulators or government representatives.
More than 250 speakers are scheduled. The keynote is documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux. Other names listed include Sir Geoffrey Vos, Master of the Rolls; Ian Jeffery, CEO of The Law Society, which is the event partner; Christian Bartsch, CEO of Bird & Bird; and Claire Clarke, Managing Partner at Mills & Reeve.
The programme covers 22 topics. They include AI adoption, AI governance and responsible AI, as well as regulation, security and privacy, knowledge management and vendor assessments. Business-side topics include alternative legal structures, new business models, legal education reform and in-house and law firm collaboration. The people side is covered too, with sessions on culture and wellbeing.
Sessions come in several formats: TED-style talks under 15 minutes, panels, expert roundtables, interactive workshops, fireside chats, Q&As and live product demos. There is also a silent disco.
Thomson Reuters is the headline sponsor. Platinum sponsors are Clio, NetDocuments, CS DISCO, Harvey, Relativity and Litera. Gold sponsors include Airia, BRYTER, Draftwise and Legalfly, with 30 or more further vendors at silver and bronze level, plus a Startup Alley for law firms and emerging companies.
For legal teams comparing tools, a sponsor list like this is a useful map of the market in one building. Live demos make it easier to compare products side by side.
- In-house professionals: free, by application.
- Law firm employees: GBP 850 (final release).
- Everyone else, including tech providers, consultants and media: GBP 1,750 (final release).
The pass covers both days, a networking app with one-to-one meeting booking, food, coffee, workshops and side events. Doors open at 8:00 AM, sessions begin at 9:30 AM, and the Legal Geek Afterparty runs from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Side events include speed networking, a beer and wine tasting, karaoke, a run club and paint and sip sessions.
The venue has four stages, several workshop rooms and a street food market. The organizers say the Old Truman Brewery has hosted Legal Geek for eight years.
Legal AI has moved from pilot projects to purchasing decisions. A two-day event that puts regulators, in-house teams, law firms and vendors in the same venue is where those decisions get compared and tested. The weight on AI governance and responsible AI in the agenda suggests that how a tool is controlled now matters as much as what it can do.
